XIMEA was assembled by a group of pioneers from OEM field of Imaging industry - namely SOFTHARD Technologies company. Accumulated knowledge and experiences of these Vision veterans covers more than 25 years in business. Radically new and fresh approaches utilized in situations where the satisfaction of the customers and clients with special requirements is paramount. The smallest form factor, fastest speed, lowest power consumption or widest interoperability - these are the essential building stones of their mission.
In 1992 a company called Softhard Technologies was founded by Slava Klimkovitch, in an effort to bring to market technology that had been developed at the Russian Academy of Science. This technology dealt with real-time signal processing and image acquisition.
XIMEA has defined its mission as the development of cameras at the forefront of machine vision and imaging, spearheading the advancements of research. This resulted in remarkable product lines like xiQ - USB3 Vision cameras, xiC - USB 3.1 with Sony CMOS, xiMU - Subminiature camera and xiRAY – X-ray cameras. Breakthroughs followed with first PCI Express camera, smallest Hyperspectral cameras in the world, Embedded vision platform or original Thunderbolt™ cameras. Utilizing the exceptional 64 Gbit/s speed of PCIe interface new models emerge, suitable for Multi-camera setups or with enhanced sensitivity using sCMOS sensors.
